Teachers as DesignersWelcome to Teachers as Designers website!

Teachers as Designers is a continuous professional development session offered to language teachers. So far, it has run as part of TESOL‘s Electronic Village Online (EVO) 2016 and now for IATEFL‘s Learning Technologies Special Interest Group. It lasts between 5 to 8 weeks, depending on the work context, and provides an introduction to using learning design as a way of integrating technology into your classroom.

Teachers as Designers session relies on project-based learning and follows on a successful Hands on ICT (Information and Communications Technology) MOOC for educators interested in developing creativity techniques and approaches to integration of educational technologies inspired by learning design. It is an adapted version to suit the needs of language teachers and teacher trainers from all ELT sectors. During the session the participants are going to acquaint themselves with the Learning Design framework in order to design, evaluate and refine a learning technology-based activity (or a sequence of activities) which, by meeting the exact needs of their learners, aims to solve an educational challenge in the participant’s context.

To know more about the session itself, check out the Session Info tab.

The session will be led by 3-5 experienced language teacher trainers with expertise in using technology in the classroom. To get to know them, have a look at the Team section. During the session we will be blogging so please consider following our blog.
