The second convergence session took place earlier today.

Again, we were using the Adobe Connect Room kindly lent to us by our sponsor LTSIG.and like the first, it was attended by participants from all corners of the globe!

This session was more informal than last weeks as there was no guest speaker.  Instead, we had more time to dedicate to talking about areas the moderators wanted to comment on from the second week of the TaD EVO session.

First on the agenda were infographics, and the moderators commented on how positive the reaction had been to the challenge they set early on in the week. Added to the two links given in anncouncement, Smore and Easel.ly were also recommended as tools for making infographics, and it was noted how effective they can be when used (and created) by students. This led onto a discussion about QR codes, and who had used them with students in the past (and how).

Reference was also made to some of the blogs and portfolio posts from participants which have caught the eye of the moderators.  Some of which we are hoping to showcase on this blog… 🙂

At one stage Karina took over the microphone to talk about her week and how her challenge is progressing.  She was followed by Iwona who came on the microphone to tell us more about her challenge and ideas.

The session finished with some comments from the moderators about the objectives which formed part of Week 2.  There was a general reminder about the level of detail required in objectives, and we re-shared a document from the session looking at writing objectives.  The discussion then moved onto the wording of objectives and how we could make use of the action verbs used in Bloom’s Taxonomy as well as the importance of SMART objectives.

Smart Criteria - TAD

For the next session next Sunday 31st January we are hoping to have another guest speaker, which will be confirmed during the week, so keep an eye on the annoucements!  Until then, here is a link to the recording of today’s session!
